THE cathedral
The cathedral is distinctive by its charcoal grey colour resulting from the Volvic lava stone used to build it. The interior conceals a remarkable collection of stained-glass windows and murals.

This fountain, which was built in 1515 under the patronage of Bishop Jacques-d’Amboise, has been moved several times within the town. Its structure, with its arched buttresses is Gothic, but its decoration shows evidence of the Italianate finesse of the Renaissance period.
